Disney World announces renovations for 2025

These are the attractions and new features it will offer.


Over the next year, the complex's main areas will be updated with activities and shows that will seek to attract new audiences.

Walt Disney World, located in Florida, one of the most popular destinations worldwide, revealed a series of projects that will be completed by 2025. New developments include renovations to classic attractions, new themed shows, and the transformation of several iconic areas within its theme parks.


Confirmed plans include the reopening of Test Track at EPCOT, an all-new nighttime parade at Magic Kingdom, and a 4D show inspired by "Zootopia" at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Temporary attraction closures were also announced as part of the renovation process, such as Dinosaur, which will be replaced with a new themed area based on the tropical Americas.


EPCOT: Redesigns and New Experiences

EPCOT Park will be the site of major updates. One of the major new features is the renovation of Test Track, a signature attraction sponsored by General Motors. This redesign will be inspired by the original World of Motion concept, with a focus on innovation and future mobility. Guests will be able to design virtual vehicles and explore advanced technologies. Test Track is scheduled to reopen in the summer of 2025.


Also, a new lounge will open in Spaceship Earth, one of EPCOT's most iconic areas. This space will offer panoramic views of the World Celebration Gardens and will be an ideal place to enjoy the nightly fireworks. This lounge is scheduled to open in late spring of 2025.

New Features at Disney's Hollywood Studios


At Disney's Hollywood Studios, guests will enjoy the first suspended roller coaster in Disney theme parks, inspired by "Monsters, Inc." This attraction will allow guests to explore the world of Monstropolis through interactive storytelling and advanced technology. The roller coaster is scheduled to open in late 2025.

Additionally, the park will replace the classic "The Little Mermaid" show with The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, a completely reimagined production. This new show will feature state-of-the-art sets, animated puppets, and a live soundtrack featuring the film's original songs. The show is scheduled to premiere in summer 2025.


Magic Kingdom: A New Parade and Themed Experiences


Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World's most-visited park, will present the Disney Starlight Parade: Dream the Night Away. This event will feature illuminated floats, advanced projection technology, and iconic characters such as "Moana," "Peter Pan," and "Frozen." The parade's debut is scheduled for summer 2025.


In the same park, a new tavern will open in Adventureland, inspired by the "Pirates of the Caribbean" saga.

This themed area will offer an immersive experience designed to immerse guests in the universe of the popular franchise. The tavern is scheduled to open in late 2025.


Changes and New Areas at Disney's Animal Kingdom


At Disney's Animal Kingdom, the Dinosaur attraction will close in 2025 to make way for a new area themed on the tropical Americas. This development will include attractions inspired by the films "Encanto" and "Indiana Jones," focusing on biodiversity and adventure.

Additionally, the park will feature the 4D show Zootopia: Better Zoogether!, starring the film's main characters, including Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. This experience will use advanced visual effects to create an interactive narrative. The show is scheduled to premiere in late 2025.

Temporary Closures and Phased Openings


Walt Disney World announced that some attractions will be temporarily closed due to renovations and construction. However, new attractions will be progressively opened throughout the year.


The first group of updates will be available in spring 2025, while other projects, such as the renovations to Animal Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom parade, will debut toward the end of the year.
